Meet the Instructors

Meet Lynette 3rd Dan and Chief Instructor.

Hi all,  I’ve trained in Karate since 1989.  The first 5 years was in Shotokan Karate where I gained my 1st Dan and since 2011 I practiced  Shukokai Karate with my family.

I joined the Army Reserves and trialled for the Army Karate Team.  It has been a privilege to have had the opportunity to do this, competing at highly respected competitions worldwide gaining medals along the way.  I have learnt so much about myself in doing so.  In 2023 became a double silver medalist at the WUKF World Championships and I am now the 2024 WKC Triple World Champion in Kata, Kumite Sanbon and Kumite Ippon.

Now we have opened our own Karate Club here in Rotherham and would love to help others with their Karate journey.  Everyone’s journey is different and people start for a number of reasons.  What is great about Karate is it is inclusive and for everyone.

The hardest thing is walking through those doors for the first time.  It can be daunting we understand that but we will meet you and put you at ease, we are all in this together and all started out the same.

I look forward to meeting you soon

Meet Sam 2nd Dan, Club Secretary and Instructor.

Hi, I was introduced to Karate by Sensei Lynette in 2011.  Although I am not as competitive as Lynette I have competed and medalled in a number of National Competitions and was a member of the British Army Karate team.

What I enjoy most about Karate is the journey.  There is always something new to learn and perfect, in fact you could argue there is no such thing as perfection in Karate only the journey to become the best version of yourself.

As one of the club instructors I look forward to welcoming you to our dojo.

Meet Sean 2nd Dan, Club Assistant Instructor.  WKC World silver medalist 2024 in Team Kata and bronze medalist in Team Kumite.
